Sunday 31st March saw the Hinton Admiral 10K take place. This is a new run for 2013 held on the Hinton Admiral Estate, near Bransgore, Dorset. The run was an opportunity to raise funds on behalf of the Wessex Autistic Society and a unique opportunity to run through the wooded Estate and see the ancestral home of the Tapps-Gervis-Meyrick family. The house and grounds are open to the public on selected days of the year.
A total of 161, mainly local runners took part, including a Romsey threesome – all ladies. First back was Anna Duignan in 65:45, followed by Gill Callus 71:50 and Wendy Couper 76:47. They reported that it was “an excellent cross country course made all the more enjoyable with the glorious sunshine”; something that has been distinctly lacking recently. The photo illustrates what a bit of sunshine can do, or maybe it was the excitement of seeing the Easter Bunny, either way, smiles all round!
