It was a 10k fest for Romsey Road Runners last weekend.
In the Eastleigh 10k, four RRRs officially finished – plus one of our second claim runners. (A couple of other RRRs were spotted but don’t appear on the results… hmm). The largest 10k in the South, with 2,800 entries, this was the 32nd running of the Eastleigh 10k. The race had a new sponsor this year, Hendy Ford, and the lead runners were led around the course by a red Mustang! Apart from a short hill around the 3.5km mark, the course is fairly flat and is known as a PB course.
RRR Eastleigh 10k Finishers:
- James Battle 36:32
- John Quayle 43:38 PB
- Colin Waters (running for New Forest Runners) 44:37
- Nicola Skeats 58:44 PB
- Bridget Wells 01:00:49 PB (over a minute quicker than last year)
On Saturday, three RRRs “endured” the Beachy Head 10K (actually 7.7 miles) in cold and windy conditions. Said Wendy, “It was, however, dry and very enjoyable – well it was when we had finished!”
Beachy Head 10k finishers:
- Alice Lane 01:29:00
- Anna Duignan 01:30:29 (1st FV60 and six minutes quicker than last year!)
